Intermediate English courses in Canada

You will join multi-national language classes following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to your level of ability with additional work on fluency and pronunciation. Course has 20hs per week.

The Specialized Intensive program is designed for students who want to learn at a faster pace. The program offers 30 lessons per week.

The Semi-Intensive program offers four foundational courses that will help students to develop a strong understanding of the English language. The courses included are Grammar & Idioms, Listening & Speaking, Reading & Vocabulary and Writing & Presentation.

Course Overview includes: • 20 lessons per week (4 lessons per day) • Duration: 20 x 50 minutes • 15 students max. per class • Beginner to Advanced levels • Course length: 1–50 weeks • Age 16+ During the lessons you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations.

The LSI Intensive 30 Course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay. The Intensive 30 Course concentrates on all the areas that students need to achieve a much greater fluency in a short period of time.

Course Overview includes: • 30 lessons per week (6 lessons per day) • Duration: 30 x 50 minutes (25 hours per week) • 15 students max. per class • Beginner to Advanced levels • Course length: 1–50 weeks • Age 16+ The LSI Intensive 30 Course is for students who want to maximize their language learning practice during their stay.

Course Overview includes: • 10 lessons per week (2 lessons per day) • Duration: 10 x 50 minutes (8.34 hours per week) • 15 students max.

Course Overview includes: • 24 lessons per week (3 days of 4 lessons and 2 days of 6.5 lessons) • Duration: 24 x 50 minutes (20 hours per week) • Beginner to Advance level • Minimum age 16+ *Minimum 12 weeks booking required for Beginner.

Course Overview includes: • Morning General 20 in mixed age classes • Afternoon activities: 3 p/wk • Course duration: 1–4 wks • Minimum age: 40 • Elementary to Advanced levels Example activities include: winery visits, rain forest excursions, Maori weaving, boat trips, theatre visits, Kensington Palace. At LSI we welcome mature students of all ages, who are “young at heart” on all our courses throughout the year.

Course Overview includes: • Morning General 20 in mixed age classes • Afternoon activities: 3 p/wk • Course duration: 1–4 weeks • Minimum age: 40 • Elementary to Advanced levels At LSI we welcome mature students of all ages, who are “young at heart” on all our courses throughout the year. In addition at specific locations, we organize social activities which suit the more mature student’s interests.

For students who want to take their language learning to the next level, this option builds on the daily skills and language focus with an opportunity to develop in specific areas. Through a combination of Task Based Learning and traditional skills lessons, you will be a part of a class with a specific goal in mind where all areas of language use are activated naturally and effectively.

As well as covering the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening), grammar and vocabulary in a student centered and communicative setting, you will have the chance to develop both your fluency and accuracy through daily workshops designed to reinforce and the language you studied in the morning. You will need to purchase a textbook (English $30, French $50) upon arrival.
