EC’s homestay providers can be found in the Cherry Hinton, Arbury, Chesterton & New Chesterton areas of Cambridge.<br><br> What's Included:<br> • English course: 20 morning / afternoon lessons (45 mins each) per week for a total of 15 hours. The course will help improve English language skills by focusing on the key areas: reading, writing, speaking and listening. There are mixed nationalities in each class. All learning materials are provided on loan in class. Computers, video, data projectors and other modern technology is used to enhance the teaching. All courses begin on Sunday, with classes starting on Monday (except public holidays). <br><br> <b>Culture Club</b><br> We also run the "Culture Club", a series of lectures on an interesting subject - for example, a look at the history and significance of the excursion destinations you will go on. By attending these lectures and taking part in the lively debates you will also help improve skills such as note-taking and formal listening. All Embassy summer schools offer an exciting programme of activities, which take place throughout the day and in the evenings. We make sure that, during their stay, students get the chance to see as many different places as possible.<br><br> <b>Activities</b><br> All Embassy summer schools offer an exciting programme of activities, which take place throughout the day and in the evenings. EC English Language Schools: Cambridge (Junior) Junior Summer Course (Jul 8 - Aug 18, no arrivals Jul 15) (Ages 13-17) + Jesus College Accommodation Twin Room, Full Board The prestigious Jesus Residence is situated in the centre of the beautiful city of Cambridge, a 20 - 25 minutes’ walk from Chesterton Community College, EC’s Junior Centre. Shops, cafés, sports facilities, a multiplex cinema and the historical sites of Cambridge are all within walking distance of Jesus residence.<br><br> Rooms Include:<br> • Beds and chest of drawers<br> • Storage space<br> • Writing desk and chair<br> • Reading lamp<br> • Mirror<br> • Notice board<br> • Rooms may contain a hand wash basin.<br><br> What to Expect from the Residence:<br> • Students stay in comfortable single or twin rooms in individual houses.<br> • Between 9 and 12 students normally stay in each house and are fully supervised by a live-in EC Social Leader.<br> • There are between 2 bathrooms per house.<br> • Communal area including a kitchen where the live-in social leader and students will prepare and have breakfast.<br> • Bed linen is provided and changed weekly; students should bring their own towels.<br> • Bedrooms are cleaned and tidied weekly, communal areas are cleaned and tidied daily. However, all students should assist in keeping both their own rooms and communal areas tidy.<br> • Students can use the washing machines in each house. They will be responsible for their own laundry.
