More about studying in Montevideo »
Travelers to Montevideo are immediately entranced by the beautiful beaches. Beach communities like Punta Carretas give off a hip vibe like Miami or Copacabana. This capital city of Uruguay is also the chief port of Uruguay. A meshing of the old and new can be found throughout. Montevideo was established in 1726 as a military base to defend the eastern province of Virreinato del Rio de la Plata from the Portuguese. With its mix of old and new, Montevideo has an historic downtown business district as well as shopping malls, museums, nightclubs and theaters. Students taking Spanish courses in Montevideo will enjoy the subtropical climate experienced in Montevideo. Warm summers and cool winters are the norm, with a decent amount of rainfall throughout the year. Carnival is a huge event in many South American cities, and Montevideo is no different, hosting the longest Carnival in the world. To fully experience the culture of Uruguay, no stay is complete without a visit to the Teatro Solis. This historic theatre is over 150 years old, and is still an important part of Montevideo. Patrons can take in ballet, orchestral concerts, comedy shows, or theatrical productions in this beautiful building. The Museo Romantico is another interesting attraction, housing a collection of both art and antique furniture. Students lucky enough to be attending Spanish school in Montevideo will never be at a loss for activities outside of school. Whether learning to dance the Tango, learning about the local culture, or simply strolling along the sandy beaches, there is much to see and do.

WHO ARE PRIVATE CLASSES FOR
Private classes are for those students whose objective is to learn Spanish based on their own abilities and who want to do it at their own pace. They seek to use every minute of time with their professor to get the best results, and are interested in personalized classes with the schedule of their choice.
Our Intensive 20 Spanish program consists of 20 weekly classes and is perfect for students who are eager to learn Spanish in a short period of time without sacrificing the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in the Spanish culture. Our experienced teachers focus on student participation and interaction by using real-life situations and topics to increase students’ ability to develop authentic language skills that are useful in the real world.
Private lessons are, without a doubt, the best way to make the most of your time studying Spanish abroad. The personal one-on-one attention will inevitably lead you to learn faster and more effectively than in group classes.
