Regent was one of the first groups of English language schools in the UK. It was established over 50 years ago in 1964 by a passionate, experienced teacher who wanted to found a proper school, with proper teachers and proper courses. Today Regent offers innovative courses in a choice of academically and culturally rich locations that create life changing opportunities for our students. Fundamentally, we understand that knowing about English is not enough – what is important is the ability to successfully use English in your life.

Oxford is world famous for its university, and it has a huge amount to offer its visitors. There are lots of cultural events, a lively social scene, beautiful buildings and a variety of international restaurants. The city is steeped in history and the air of academic excellence is reflected in our school’s culture. Living with a family is a good way to practise your English
outside the classroom and experience the British way of
life. Your host family will provide you with a comfortable
room, breakfast and dinner every day and all meals at
weekends.

Location
Most host families live in residential areas around the city
with easy access to the school. It is very common in
Oxford for people to travel between 20 to 40 minutes by
bus to and from school or work.
Your Host family
You may stay with a family with children, a single person,
a retired couple or a young couple. Many different types of
people enjoy hosting foreign students. To ensure that we
find the best family for you, please inform us about any
special requirements well in advance.
Once we find the right host family for you, we will send
you the address and a brief description of the family at
least 1 week before your course starts.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
