"A well organized school, with a very well thought program for the 55 plus , friendly and efficient staff."

Adriana Groza, student from USA

I will start by saying that I liked the school and appreciated the program. We had many activities aside from the classes, which was a pleasant surprise for me, compared to another similar program that I attended.
My accomodation was accepable - within walking distance and separate bathroom- but otherwise disappointing.
The idea of living with a local family was to have a minimal conversation about life in Spain, culture, or at least see how people lived.
I saw my host exactly 5 times in total, did not have access to a TV to form a vague idea of the popular culture, I was basically on my own in a small room for the 2 weeks there.

The language program per se was NOT a pleasant experience for me, at least the first week. The instructor was obsessed with one particular member of our group of 4, a returning student; her methods did not stimulate discussion, and the linguistic material taught was not usefull or inspiring for me. I thought of changing class or giving up, but did not like the drama. The second week was more balanced, but I am disappointed in the lamguage instruction that I received.
I liked the school; other instructors seemed fine and more approachable; I liked the location. I am doubtfull that I would dare to return, probably try other Spanish schools.

"Meeting and development contact social"

Line SARRANT, student from France

The teachers were nice, the school is well located and well appointed and the activities are entertaining but I am a bit disappointed because we speak more english than spanish. I like the courses because we many speak at the oral.

"Amazing"

Renato Gambino, student from UK

I liked learning and meeting new people. The worst part was probably some of the trips during the week which were a bit dull.

"I had a wonderful time - made new friends, had amazing experiences, improved my Spanish & stayed with a lovely host family"

Marianne Binchy, student from Ireland

I had a really good time at Lacunza- the staff were extremely helpful and friendly as were the teachers. The classes were enjoyable and they definitely improved my Spanish. I loved San Sebastian and it was easy to get around from the school to our host family using bus cards. The activities were all very fun and well planned, and each one was different and enjoyable. My host family were extremely kind, helpful and welcoming and we had a very comfortable stay in their apartment. I made lots of great friends in my two weeks and had a wonderful time.

"Lacunza was an excellent school with high quality teachers."

Elia Twigg, student from USA

What I liked...everything! The teachers, the teaching methods, the location, the activities and housing were all 5 stars! My host really enjoyed talking to me and helped me with my Spanish. She also planned a day for us to see a cute town nearby. I was perfectly paired with her.

The only small complaint is that the desks at the school were terrible. They need desks that provide easier access to get in and out of the desks, especially when moving around to have different partners in the class.

"Very professional school catering for all ages and levels of expertise"

Karen Jordan, student from UK

I liked that there was both a written and an oral test because that meant we were all put into classes that were appropriate for our levels of understanding. There were people from all over the world in my class and of all ages which made it very interesting and a lot of fun. Rosa, our teacher, made a lot of effort to add variety to the class. The grammar was quite tough but Rosa has a nice way of correcting us when we make mistakes.

"GREAT experience on Learning Spanish with Laura- and residential housing was terriffic too."

Tim Lynch, student from USA

My experience at Lacunza International House: and the Language school in San Sebastian was top shelf... .everything including the food was 5 star .. And I found my Spanish skills improve a lot with Laura... nice.. thanks all for everything...the town of San Sebastian EXCEEDED my expectations too...very high quality all around...including excellent transportation services...even when it was really hot...ac on all buses...be advised though no AC at the Lacunza International House in the rooms...I was lucky to be there when the temps were just hot in the day 90 or so - and coastal breezed let me open window at night ...

"I very much enjoyed the time spent at school and in the city"

Marie-Pascale COLPAERT, student from France

Everything was great except the outings.
I would have liked more cultural outings to be offered to us, at weekends in particular: for example; go together to Bilbao or to nearby towns and/or villages of interest.

"Effective"

Andrew Viniarski, student from USA

I have had a fantastic time and enriching learning experience in Lacunza. The staff was helpful and friendly, and living with the Spanish family was a great eye-opening. I will recommend this place to my friends and colleagues, and if I have an opportunity, I will go there again either alone or with my family. Thank you ever so much for your help, flexibility, and attention you have given me. Muchas gracias por todo. Un abrazo.

"A very good experience to renew"

Michelle Lacroze, student from France

I liked everything, the family ( super), the situation of the school, the courses. The only negative is not having four hours.Luckily I was able to speak a lot in the family that was hosting me.I think also that 8 or 9 students per class should be the norm.

"Very good teaching"

Aaro Miettinen, student from Finland

I stayed for just one week, thus my experience and evaluation are limited by that. The size of the class was good (8 students), the teachers were obviously professionals and very good. The location of the house (Mundaiz 8) was not very good and the facilities were average. The personnel was good.

The beginning was a bit chaotic about the information of where to go in the beginning, and after the skill level estimation again to which Aula to go. So my wife and I apparently lost the first minigroup session. I did not get the information of it.

Otherwise everything was okay.

Our school premises are located next to a large park and are a 5min walk to the city center or a 10min walk to the beach. The premises are specifically built for a language school and are located in a recently furbished building. The neighborhood features a number of bars, cafes, and banks. Whether in classes, our outdoor terrace, spacious reception area or social break area, Lacunza IH is a meeting place for international students to learn and immerse themselves in Spanish.
