English Language in Context (ELIC) offers a distinctive approach to advanced English language education, combining high-quality teaching, small classes and the opportunity to use English in authentic, everyday situations.
**Teaching Quality**
At ELIC, students benefit from an experienced, CELTA-qualified teacher who has taught English internationally, including in London, New York and Singapore. Our courses are designed for adults with an upper-intermediate to advanced level of English (B2+/C1) who wish to develop greater fluency, confidence, precision and sophistication in their communication.
With a maximum of 10 students per class and one dedicated teacher throughout the course, ELIC provides a supportive, engaging and intellectually stimulating learning environment. Lessons focus on advanced speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation, with particular emphasis on discussion, debate, critical thinking and communicating effectively in professional, academic and social situations.
**Location**
ELIC is based in the heart of the City of London, one of the capital's most historic, fascinating and well-connected districts. Surrounded by remarkable architecture, cultural landmarks, galleries, cafés and historic streets, students have the opportunity to discover London beyond its traditional tourist attractions.
The city's excellent public transport network makes the school easily accessible and allows students to explore London's many neighbourhoods and cultural attractions.
**Facilities and Learning Environment**
ELIC offers a welcoming, professional learning environment designed for mature adult students. Our small-group, discussion-based approach encourages interaction, collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
Learning extends beyond the classroom through practical activities, cultural visits and opportunities to engage with the city and its people. These experiences help students develop the confidence and flexibility to use English naturally in real-world situations.
At ELIC, London is more than a destination. It is an essential part of the learning experience.
