BABYLONIA is a centre for language-learning and for political meetings and discussions, for cultural presentations and exhibitions. Babylonia was founded in 1980 in a then-squatted factory in Berlin-Kreuzberg. We are an autonomous collective, where ten and sometimes more languages are spoken. So don’t expect a designer language institute and “blackboard-lectures”, rather rooms we’ve decorated ourselves and teachers, who want to hear about your interests and experiences.

GERMAN COURSES: We run so-called 'integration courses', i.e. courses that run for about a year leading up to the B1 exam. The course is divided into six 'modules' a 100 hours, each approximately six weeks. They are quite intensive, four times a week. Depending on your residence status, you might be eligible for the integration course subsidised by the government. In this case, the fee is 120 Euros per module. If not, it's 180 Euros. And if you're claiming unemployment benefit it's free for you. If you are interested you should come to our office on Tuesday or Wednesday from 12 to 3 pm. At this occasion, you can enquire whether there are free places in the course you're interested in. In addition, we can give you information about how to apply for the grant. Enrolment every Tuesday and Wednesday 12 to 3 p.m.
