Our General English Standard course is popular among students who wish to combine morning English classes with free time or with exam preparation courses such as the Cambridge IELTS preparation or speaking skills classes in the afternoon. Students will work on all four main language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking along with grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.

The Summer Language School course at Stonyhurst is for international students who wish to improve their English language competence, experience life at a traditional English boarding school, gain valuable life skills and increase their confidence and independence. We deliver 46 hours of high quality English language teaching over two weeks, by qualified teachers.

The Summer Language School Tennis Academy course at Stonyhurst is for international students who wish to improve their English language competence, combined with intensive tennis tuition for enthusiastic young tennis players. In addition students can experience life at a traditional English boarding school, gain valuable life skills and increase their confidence and independence.

Our IELTS preparation course will develop your confidence and skills for taking the IELTS exam. This course is suitable for those students who want to prepare for the IELTS examination as it will help them to practise all four skills; Listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as grammar and vocabulary for the exam.

Our General English and IELTS/exam preparation course is aimed at students who wish to make rapid progress or students who are unable to book longer courses due to time constraints. General English in the morning (Monday to Friday) and IELTS/exam preparation (Monday to Thursday) in the afternoon.
