If you want to Study English in Cape Town, we would like to welcome you to the Language Teaching Centre, LTC. The General English Course is ideal if you want to improve your everyday communication skills and you prefer to study in a class with other students.

The General English course is for students who wish to improve their current level of English in a group environment. The focus is on fluency and highlights the practical understanding of English through the four main skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Intensive English is ideal for students who want to optimise their study time. In addition to Standard English lessons in the mornings, our Intensive course includes lessons in the afternoon, which prepare students to function more confidently as they live, work and study in an increasingly English-speaking world.

The General English course will cover the four main skills you need to write and speak English (reading, writing, listening and speaking), with an emphasis on practical communication in common situations, such as travelling, shopping, and leisure time. The course includes 20 lessons (15 hours) per week.

All our courses are available year-round, starting every Monday, and are priced the same, giving you the flexibility to choose the one that best aligns with your goals.

Students who have specific language learning requirements may choose to have one-to-one lessons with a teacher. Your teacher will first carry out a detailed needs analysis to identify the context in which you need to use English, and the areas of the language where you need support and training.

This course combines the standard English in the morning with afternoon electives twice a week. You can choose between the following options, Speaking and Listening, or Reading and Writing.

Our Standard Courses is ideal for students who use English for everyday purposes. This English course is our most popular one and perfect for anyone who either wants to start learning English or wants to improve their English skills.

The Semi-Intensive course is not suitable for absolute beginners but for those who really wish to improve their English. With a strong skills-based focus, the afternoon programme on Monday and Tuesday consists of relevant, student-centred content which is easy to relate to and engage with.
