Kaplan's Semi-Intensive English course offers both group lessons and structured, independent study sessions-- leaving students plenty of time for social activities and to explore their surroundings. This course consists of 20 lessons of general English and 7 lessons of structured study time. A Semi-Intensive English course offers the balance to enjoy your destination and finish your course with a higher level of English. Semi-Intensive English Courses focus on the four main aspects of language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. These courses offer a semi-intensive English education that will help you learn quickly and effectively. You’ll also learn vocabulary and grammar, and how to speak in formal and informal discussions, interviews and strategies. Kaplan's Semi-Intensive English course offers both group lessons and structured, independent study sessions -- leaving students plenty of time for social activities and to explore their surroundings. This course consists of 20 lessons of general English and 7 lessons of structured study time.

Course topics

Lessons focus on practical English, including reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Supplemental structured study allows students to use multimedia materials, online exercises and course books for their studies, so they can focus on what they need to learn and improve the most.

Kaplan International Bournemouth 30+ has a vibrant and lively atmosphere, a comprehensive range of Kaplan courses on offer, first class learning facilities and a great location in the seaside town of Bournemouth.

Bournemouth is one of the most popular seaside resorts in England. Summer shows, great nightlife and excellent shopping all make Bournemouth a year-round destination for tourists. With seven miles of beautiful golden beaches, this town is also very popular with international language students.

The college was built in the 1960s. It is a modern building with three floors and is situated in the area of Westbourne, roughly 5 minutes by bus from Bournemouth town centre. The college is located on a main street and has a lovely patio at the back.

The Bournemouth College is an official IELTS Test centre for Kaplan students only. It is also a Cambridge computer based test centre for KET, PET, FCE and CAE, ensuring exams are taken at college in familiar surroundings.

visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from Kaplan International. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 40 when you register.
