Course description

Use the inspiring campus and surrounding areas of Cambridge University as a playground of visual stimulation, ISSOS is the best place to learn or advance your photography skills. Learn to photograph the landscape, portraits of friends, nature and life in action. Use the art of photography to communicate, tell a story or advertise a product.

The digital photography summer school course teaches the fundamentals in a fun, informative and inspirational way. Summer students work with a professional tutor and learn the skills needed to capture, edit and produce quality photographs.
See the world around you as an unlimited source of inspiration
Understand the techniques involved in digital photography and edit photographs for the desired effect
Engage creative talent and produce photography that inspires others
Publish your work in the ISSOS Times, the summer schools newspaper
Topics and subjects will be selected daily and students will work with a professional tutor to create quality photographs, which will be showcased at the end of the course in ISSOS’s creative exhibition. In addition, the photography students will collaborate with the journalism students on articles covering a variety of topics.

Learn how to use the art of photography to communicate, tell a story or advertise a product and capture life at ISSOS and the historic campus and surroundings.

Please note all students taking this program must bring an SLR camera, for recommendations on make and model please contact us.

The exclusive ISSOS summer school program offers high school students from over 80 nationalities (aged 13-18) the opportunity to combine learning and action-packed adventure in one of two amazing, historic and picturesque university towns of St Andrews and Cambridge. Our three-week program welcomes students from all over the world, mixing native and non-native English speakers and limits the number of students from one nationality to 10% in order to guarantee a truly international experience. All staff who teach at ISSOS are professionals in their field and come from the top universities and organisations in the world.

ISSOS International Summer Schools are amazing. The staff are incredibly welcoming. The teachers are engaging and encouraging and their classes are interesting and dynamic. The accommodation is safe and comfortable. The location was wonderful and there is the opportunity to go on fun and interesting trips. I would recommend ISSOS to anyone who wants to practise and improve their English skills, study interesting academic and elective classes, meet friends from lots of different nationalities and have so much fun!

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. The school is also not authorized to issue documents to support your visa application. If you need a visa, you have to apply for a visitor or tourist visa on your own.
