The Long Term General Japanese Course is for all level of students who wish to study and live in Japan for a long. It is absolutely no problem even if you have no idea what to do in the future. ISI Language School has classes from beginner to advance, so you will find the most suitable class for you.
The course can be booked for 6 calendar months (2 terms of 10 weeks of classes each) or for 1 year (4 terms of 10 weeks of classes each). In each term there are weeks where the school is closed for vacation.
The experienced teachers devise the better method day by day, using original photos and pictures, so that students can relax and practice for many situations. The special direct teaching method is used. You have a lot of chances to speak up in the elementary classes.
Once you reach the intermediate level, you can take 16 hours general lessons and 4 hours elective lessons. The elective lessens can be chosen from conversation, JLPT preparatory, EJU preparatory, or post graduate exam preparatory.
Beginner to Intermediate students are generally placed in the afternoon class, and Upper intermediate to Advanced students are generally in the morning class. The class will be decided as a result of the placement test on your first day. (*The level division and the timetable may vary, depending on the school decisions)
Minimum enrollment is 20 weeks (6 months including holidays), and available to extend the course onsite, up to 2 years.

We have classes from beginner to advanced, so you can find the most suitable class for you. We offer various courses with activities, visa support, and part time job finding support. The course is available from 4 weeks to 2 years. We also offer the accommodation and airport transfer arrangement.
We provide 4 elements of language: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking for students' academic path. At intermediate or higher level, JLPT preparatory, Conversation class available, besides the regular curriculum.

Shinjuku is one of Tokyo’s most iconic districts, known for its skyscrapers, shopping centers, and energetic streets. It is a hub for business, culture, and entertainment, offering theaters, restaurants, parks, and a famous nightlife scene. Shinjuku combines modern urban life with traditional elements, making it a unique and exciting place to live and learn.
Homestays are carefully selected and offer students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture in a comfortable setting while studying Japanese in Tokyo. These homes are often between 15 - 60 minutes away from the school by public transport. Families usually offer affordable meal plans that allow you to sample the local cuisine. If you have special requests or diet restrictions (because of religion or health reasons), please let us know in advance. You must check out 1 day after your classes end (usually a Saturday). Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18+. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Student residences often do not include any meal plan. It is possible to live in a rented apartment during your study in Tokyo, but this tends to be more expensive. ISI Shinjuku Prime provides some assistance with apartment rentals or you can rent an apartment on your own. Learn more about apartment housing
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
