College Green Language and Study
This practical course is for students who would like to learn how to teach English to speakers of other languages, also known as TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language).
The course focuses on modelling everything that takes place in a good English language classroom. Students will participate actively from the first moment of the course. The course covers all the essential aspects involved in facilitating effective communicative-based lessons for the four main skills in English; speaking, listening, writing and reading. Subskills are also covered. Students will benefit from taking this course in the following ways: experiencing how an effective language classroom can work, engaging and actively participating as a way to learn key elements, have the chance to do practical micro-teaching (simulated lessons) with feedback daily. Learn how to use resources available to enhance learning. Students will also have the opportunity to use and improve their own English language skills in a total immersion environment. The course is suitable for individuals who would like to learn the skill of teaching English and is also suitable to primary and secondary school teachers working as English teachers who would like to take part in professional development to learn new ways to approach their students and the the curricula of their school. Full attendance and satisfactory participation is required in order to obtain a certificate of attendance & participation and a course report detailing topics covered as well as commentary on the individual' s development over the duration of the course, with strengths and areas for development included. Our trainers are highly experienced in teaching English, in training and in the lived experienced of learning other languages, they are well-equipped to ensure you leave the course feeling more confident, more knowledgeable and more motivated to get your own students learning English more effectively. Book the course and there are accommodation options on campus that can also be booked, if required.

Stay at Trinity campus this summer and be a student on 1 of our 5 English Language Courses:
General English 20 hours per week
Intensive IELTS 20 hours per week
Practical Teacher Training Course 30-hour 1 week course
Practical Medical English 20 hours per week
Private Closed Program for 1 to 2 students (families) 15 hours per week
During the afternoons, students do more practice of what they have learnt in class, during our excursions and activities program. Students also enjoy a full day tour full of more opportunities to use English and speak to more people outside of Dublin City on a Saturday or Sunday. The CGLS Team is qualified, experienced and interested in supporting you to use more English and improve your communicative confidence. Our Academic staff are all highly qualified and have Cambridge-accredited teaching qualifications.
*Students who have their own accommodation can book the course without campus accommodation.

Trinity College Dublin is Ireland's most prestigious and oldest university. Many students and tourists visit the college campus in summer. Students of College Green Language and Study can enjoy learning English in a real Irish university environment. There are also plenty of things to do on the university campus. Students can enjoy nature, history, architecture, art, walking tours, and a sports gym with an Olympic-sized indoor swimming pool. Walk 5 -10 minutes from the school to Ireland's National Gallery, 'Merrion Square' Park, the Irish Whiskey Museum and the statue of Molly Malone . It's also easy to walk to many good restaurants, cafes and traditional Irish pubs in the area. The Irish pub and restaurant ' Lincoln's Inn' is 1 minute away, 'Kennedy's Pub and Restaurant' is 2 minutes away. Walk 10 minutes to exciting Temple Bar for great nightlife or take a walk to Grafton Street and Stephen's Green Park .Our location is ideal for an all inclusive English language learning experience, set at a world class university location. You will be studying and staying at Dublin's biggest tourist attraction, surrounded by many other places of interest, cafe's , the best restaurants, museums, cinemas, pedestrian- friendly spaces, Irish history and night time entertainment. Student residences are more suitable for an independent student, who is looking for clean, basic accommodation at an economic price. All students must be 18 - 100. Your housing starts on the Sunday before your first day of class and ends on the Saturday after your last day of class, unless otherwise noted. Student residences often do not include any meal plan. We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. The school is also not authorized to issue documents to support your visa application. If you need a visa, you have to apply for a visitor or tourist visa on your own.
