Course description

If you have been in Germany for a long time, you usually already have some initial knowledge. It goes without saying that you do not attend a beginner's course in this case. We offer you different levels. These are based on the common European reference framework for languages. In total, we offer six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. The language level always increases. You only visit a level C course if you already speak German almost perfectly.
As a beginner, the assignment is easy. They start with A1. With previous knowledge, it is often not easy to choose the right course. Helpful is our placement test. You can find this on our website. If you need help or want to get advice, just visit us in our rooms in Hamburg.
After successfully completing a level you will of course receive a corresponding certificate. This is a great help when applying for a job or at educational institutions.

"Circular course with no stable structure"

Liviu Ursu, student from Germany

The course started quite ok. We had a teacher called Mehdi and he was already teaching 3 students. We were 2 new students that started on that day. Luckily the teacher ended up being pretty cool and we went in at a good point where we kind of went through a good amount of pretty important stuff. The book that was recommended was not used at all. Even if there was no clear structure the teacher seemed experienced and had good ideas on how to practice the language and i felt a stable improvement in the first month. The second month started a bit slow but we were still finding good things to work on. The worst part of it was the third month. I have missed the last practice in 2nd month(march) and when i arrived to the first lesson in April i was surprised to find out that in the first week of April there were no lessons and neither me nor anyone of my colleagues were notified about it. when i asked about it at the office they said "Yeah! Don't worry! You'll get your lessons. I'm sending the email to notify everyone now." Mind you, I was already there... What also surprised me was that they have also suddenly decided to change the teacher. I was a little discomforted about that, but still hoped for a similar standard. I was appalled at how bad the new teacher was. He would just come in with a laptop, ask what we would like to study or if there were topics that we had questions about.(That would happen EVERY lesson) When we had questions we would, most of the time, end up answering them to each other(because the teacher wouldn't listen enough to understand the question). One time he has answered the phone during the lesson and we never got homework. We talked between each other as students and i realised that i wasn't the only one that wasn't happy with the teacher's performance. I went to the office and tried to discuss the matter with a representative and after listening about it shortly i was told that the new teacher is indeed still studying for his accreditation and was sent an email with a form to fill out(in german) and they would send it forwards. That day i didn't even manage to stay the whole lesson and left out of disappointment. I haven't gone since as it felt like a waste of time. In general, I would say that i did get some improvement, but only due to the lucky case of having an experienced teacher in the first part of it. However the way the school worked, the curriculum and the customer approach was quite not worth the money. The classrooms were ok.

"It was a good group environment, and I learned the basics of German"

Lovise Håpnes, student from Norway

The group and the teacher was great. We had a nice time together I think. I think that I maybe should be in a higher level, but it was Nice anyway and I learned the basics good.

"Relaxed, attentive, focussed and interesting"

Joyce Chege-Resing, student from Australia

There was a bit of a misunderstanding at the beginning, I was placed in A2.2 instead of B1.1 however this was resolved very quickly, we had a teacher the next day. Louisa was great, she focused the learning to the needs of the students (3 of us). I would have liked a few activities or programs for "new to Hamburg" students. Some cultural activities, visits to the Rathaus for example or a general introduction to the city sights.
