Course description

Our Summer Camp program is located on the gorgeous park-like campus of St. John’s University in a residential part of Queens - one of five boroughs that make up New York City. Our
students live, study, and eat most of the meals here.
The nearly 102-acre campus in Queens features a beautiful broad lawn, stone buildings, ultramodern student residence halls, high-tech classroom buildings, athletic facilities, and last but not least the most spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline. St. John’s lies within easy reach of Manhattan, allowing our guests to visit the magnificent places of interest NYC has to offer.

We are within a walking distance or a quick bus ride to the subway that will take you to the heart of the city in just 30 minutes.

"An interesting experience with a lot of adventures."

Alicja Teresa Pulawska, student from Switzerland

Comparing to another linguistic summer camp I did in Germany, this school was messy. My classes were boring and I didn’t learn anything new. My impression of my first teacher (Miss Lolita) was that I felt she didn’t like being here. She seemed so uninterested in what she was doing. This kind of attitude didn’t help to motivate me. My second teacher was Allan Yu. He was the best. Also I was in C1 class but I swear this was more like B1 or B2. I’m saying this because of the level of my classmates. It was ridiculous to put me in the same class as them. I did complain about that but nobody did anything.

Then to talk about the organization. Every single day the activity plans changed. I felt lost and anxious. The website was never updated on time. It was embarrassing sometimes to arrive somewhere you weren’t supposed to be and then arriving late to your actual appointment.

Now for the cleaning crew. They stole $300 dollars from my roommate! Aren’t we supposed to feel safe in our rooms? It is outrageous.
To finish my review, the group leaders were kind and funny in general. They were responsible outside campus except for one who didn’t care and left my friends and I sleeping in the metro train. It was a traumatic event but I’m okay now the office took care of him.

In resume this camp was fun. I’ve made some friends and memories. Many chaotic and stressful moments have taken places during my stay so that’s why I won’t come back and I’ll never recommend this program to anyone.

"It was one of the best experiences I've had in my life."

DENİZ DURU ERATAK, student from Turkey

First of all, finding where the classes will be was hard but the rest of my experience was amazing.I had the chance to meet students from all over the world. Our teacher made our classes fun and informative at the same time.We were both able to do cultural activities and school stuff.I think the course not only made my English level better, but also made me more confident about talking English in the class.

"Super fun"

Tadasuke Honjo, student from USA

What I did like about the class was that there were lots of people coming from another country, so I was able to know their cultures, backgrounds etc.
