Course description

This course is for students who need a 150-hour study certificate to apply for entry into a Japanese language school, vocational school, or university in Japan.
The program combines 50 hours of live 1:1 online lessons with 100 hours of structured self-study, including homework, reading practice, writing assignments, and listening exercises.

By the end of this course, you will acquire JLPT N5 level skills, allowing you to understand and use basic Japanese expressions, communicate in everyday situations, and read simple sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji.

If you take:
4 lessons/week → complete in 3 months
3 lessons/week → complete in 4 months
2 lessons/week → complete in 6 months (recommended pace)
(Each lesson is 60 minutes long.)

When you complete all lessons and assignments, our school will issue an official Certificate of Completion, confirming your 150 hours of Japanese study — a requirement for many Japanese educational institutions.

All lessons are private 1:1 lessons with a qualified Japanese teacher over Zoom. Nihongo Online works with each student's schedule to provide lessons at times that work best for you.

【TAILORED NIHONGO COURSE】
Even if you are beginner, that’s not a problem! Nihongo Online has crafted a course and provide students a roadmap so you can succeed at learning Japanese step by step. Once all classes have been completed for this period, students can go to the upper level.

【QUALIFIED TEACHER】
All of our teachers qualified professionals with experience in teaching Japanese in language schools. They also speak English as well, so depending on your Japanese level you can also get support in English.

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. The school is also not authorized to issue documents to support your visa application. If you need a visa, you have to apply for a visitor or tourist visa on your own.
