Sing up for the Ancient Greek language course on Paros, birthplace of the lyric poet Archilochus.
Alexandria Institute organizes an Ancient Greek language course at basic, intermediate and advanced levels on one of the most popular Cyclades islands, Paros, in July. Students can opt for a two-week, three-week or four-week course, gaining valuable insight into Ancient Greek language.
Our Institute aims at providing you with a thorough educational experience, as the actual courses are enhanced by visits to archaeological sites and museums as well as by the students getting acquainted with the local customs. Therefore, every scheduled activity is directed at familiarizing the students with the island’s cuisine, architecture and heritage as well as helping them experience its authentic aura.
Our courses include:
1. Teaching material
2. A cultural walk or a guided tour to a museum
3. A welcome dinner
4. A farewell dinner
5. A Greek movie screening or a lecture on a subject related to Greek culture
6. A dance lesson, or a cooking lesson, or a Greek music workshop
7. Attendance certificate
In case attendance is greater than expected, further excursions and tour guides may be added, while the initial itinerary may have to be modified, responding to unexpected weather or other events. A minimum attendance of three is required for our cultural course to take place.

Learn Greek on the beautiful island of Paros and discover its traditions, golden beaches, rich history, and vibrant contemporary life.
Every July, the Alexandria Institute organizes a Modern Greek Language and Culture Course for all levels on one of the most charming islands of the Cyclades — the perfect setting to combine language learning, culture, and summer relaxation.
Participants can choose between one-, two-, three-, or four-week courses, depending on their goals and availability.
In addition to Modern Greek, we also offer:
an Ancient Greek course for beginners, intermediate and advanced students
a Greek Literature and Culture program, for those who wish to explore the depth and beauty of Greek language and thought.
But learning Greek is only the beginning.
Our program in Paros offers a truly immersive experience, connecting the language with the island’s everyday life. Through a variety of cultural activities, guided visits, cooking workshops, and excursions, students discover Paros’ gastronomy, architecture, and heritage, and experience the authentic spirit of this unique Cycladic island.

teaches students from all over the world, including:
very good week with 4 full morning lessons ! Danaï is a very good teacher and there was a friendly atmosphere
Next year I will come again for 2 weeks
I could not go out withe the others the evening because every day I came back home near Parikia
Thank you for everything
I was in Paros and the class was super fun and there weren’t a lot of people so there was individual feedback. In the evenings the teachers worked hard to plan interesting activities that engaged with the Greek culture and island.
