  1. Dear,

My name is Khaled Alas’ad. I am twenty-three years old, and I’m very proud to say that I have graduated from Yarmouk University with a major in French and a minor in Translation (English-Arabic). It makes me extremely proud not because I have simply graduated and I’m basically set for the new life that awaits me; I feel a deep sense of gratitude and achievement since I have done something very meaningful for my life. This meaningful thing is not only laying the foundation for a great future/well paying job, but I have accomplished doing something I’m deeply passionate about, and this is learning French, or English Above all this, I feel extremely proud because I have returned a little something back to my parents’ hard work and sacrifices, so in order to realize my dreams I want to improve my English, since it’s the first language. And I’m writing to you in regards of a concern, it’s about if I register in a one year program, do I have the right to work in there? I please ask you for this help, and for that sort of guidance I really need. Any information, guidance, counseling, or resources would be much appreciated

    Sincerely,
    Khaled Alas’ad

  2. Dear Khaled,

I understand that you would like to study for a year and work while you’re studying in the United States. Unfortunately, this is not possible because the F-1 student visa does not allow you to work and get paid. You can do unpaid volunteer work to gain the experience, but you are not allowed to work and get paid.
