Great Visa News for the UK: Student Visitor Visa (SVV) Extended to 11 Months

The Student Visitor Visa (SVV) is being extended to 11 months. Students can apply for this from 10th January 2011. This means that students can now come to the UK for up to 11 months without proving their level of English. The criteria remain the same as the existing SVV – students can not extend from within the UK and there is no right to work.

Students with the correct level of English can still apply for a General Student Visa (GSV).

Non-visa nationals can get entry clearance for up to 6 months on arrival in the UK (e.g. Brazil, Mexico, Taiwan, Japan, Korea etc). They must apply for an SVV in their home countries if they wish to stay longer than 6 months.

English schools in the UK that are part of the Language International network are Highly Trusted Sponsors, so we are hopeful that Entry Clearance Officers will look favourably on SVV applications from our UK schools.
