Number One is an English language school in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The school offers English language courses to students who want to improve their speaking, writing, and reading skills in English.
A pioneer in language teaching in this neighborhood, Number One opened its doors in 1989 under the command of three partners in the region who saw the absence and the need for a reputable English school that offers high-quality language teaching.
They knew that the "COREU" was a particular area of the city where there was a strong cultural and academic environment due to the Catholic University, installed there, and it was a neighborhood outside the center-south axis of Belo Horizonte, whose demands were quite specific. They knew that they should offer a unique service and high quality to that community.
Continuing the excellence and tradition of the Number One teaching method, the three made the school a center of excellence for English learning in the region.
The Number One went on to stand out for being community-minded. Meetings, parties, events, and competitions for students with the distribution of prizes and donation campaigns are and have always been constant at our school, whose main priority is to bring together not only students but their families and friends. Thus, we strive to create a strong atmosphere of fellowship and familiarity.

They are professionals who continually improve and stay up-to-date via workshops and training, and receive full support from the management team, who are always concerned about maintaining the high level of teaching in the school. In 2004, the school went through a minor managerial restructuring with renovations in some sectors, such as accounting and coordination. But this did not affect the school's policies and its mission remained the same: to provide the best English teaching in a pleasant environment for all, preparing students for the expectations and requirements that exist in the English language job market.
Today, this school represents one of the most important and sought after English schools in the district due to the great tradition built and maintained in the qualification of its owners, teachers, clerks, employees and also of their students and alumni, approximately 15,000 since the opening of school - over these 25 years of existence.
