Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from IP Exeter. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 65 when you register.

Flights and airport transfer

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Exeter based on your budget, schedule and preferences.

Travel insurance

Study abroad worry-free with Language International's health and personal effects insurance coverage. When you book a course with us, you can opt to purchase an international insurance plan that covers not only your health care cost but also loss of your personal belongings. You must book your insurance in advance when you register.

School location

Do you want to know what the English student life feels like? Do you think about studying in the UK? In this case, Exeter is the place to be!

The University of Exeter has a beautiful campus and has been named as The Times and The Sunday Times Sports University of the Year 2015-16. You can decide if you want to join the exciting programme put together by your international supervisors or enjoy the great shopping facilities in the city centre.

The city of Exeter is the capital of beautiful Devon and offers the ideal location for an exciting and unforgettable stay. It is close to the rugged beauty of Dartmoor National Park and the sandy beaches of South Devon. The town itself offers plenty of shops, cafés, local food joints but also well-known fast-food restaurants in and around the historic town centre, which is dominated by Exeter's magnificent 13th-century cathedral.

Enjoy the fascinating combination of modern life with a sense of the past!

You will make friends from many other countries during your English summer course - in summer 2023 we had 250 students during peak weeks from over 11 different countries.

The Campus

Situated in the North of the city, just a 20-minute-walk from the town centre, - the Streatham Campus of Exeter University- is an attractive university campus overlooking the historic city of Exeter. The beautiful campus grounds contain 350 acres of woodland, lakes, and parks. The residential houses, the refectory and the classrooms for your English summer course are all situated on the campus. The IP Ocean Lounge, where you will be able to meet friends from all over the world and where most of our activities take place, is also located at the heart of the campus. The IP Fruit 'n' Fit - Corner offers you water, tea, and fruits all day long. Once a week we offer the outdoor swimming pool for pool parties.
