Few countries on Earth are as culturally and geographically diverse as here. Take French courses in Cameroon and get the chance to experience it all first-hand. The capital Yaounde is a great introduction to this majestic land. See the brass sculptures in the Musée d'Art Camerounais and listen to the Ewondo-language Open-Air Mass in Quartier Melen. In Bamenda in the northwest, visit the Fon's Palace and home to a 700-year old dynasty of the Grassfields kingdoms. Eat grilled fish, drink cold beers and chat with the locals on the white sand beaches of Kribi. Listen to makossa music under the shades of palms and simply relax the day away. More adventurous souls can strap on the hiking boots and ascend the slopes of Mount Cameroon, 4,040 meters high. The highest mountain in West Africa, it is deeply shrouded in both mist and myth. In the far north, Parc National de Waza is home to some of Africa's oldest living rainforests and teeming with birds, elephants and other mammals who gather by its watering holes. The people of Cameroon are just as striking, with over 200 different folk and linguistic groups. Muslim pastoralists inhabit the far north, pygmy tribes in the forests of the southeast, Fulani in other northern parts, and Bantu-speakers by the coast. Trek the remote Mandara mountains and walk the streets of Douala to meet more of the intriguing people of Cameroon. Go to French school in Cameroon and become a part of this great melting pot of cultures.
