"Great quality of education"

Shota Iwasaki, student from Japan

Except for the grammar class, we had a lot of chances to have conversation with professors and other student which is good for person who has lack of the experience like me! Almost all of the student weve over 30s so they are all independent and calm, so it was really good environment for studying!

"In particular, the teachers were perfect for my learning needs"

Michael Maresh, student from USA

Everything good, although the physical plant is pretty Spartan. Intensive training with excellent exercises. Really enjoyed it

"Awesome"

Shannon Stevens, student from USA

BCS Mexico was great through the entire process, helping me get set up with private lessons on the terms that worked for me on short notice, and ultimately providing a very quality educational experience. My teacher was great and my skills improved greatly in a short time. Frida was a great school and I would highly recommend it.

"Good experience made some friends. Need to stay more than 1 week to get the most out of it"

Krishna Patel, student from UK

Was at frida Spanish school. Teachers were great especially for the conversation class (Gael) and the location was perfect lots of places to eat nearby. . A bit unorganised to start the week putting people in the correct class rushed to place us all in a class.
. I was stepped down from A2 to 1 week beginners class after about 30 mins and unable to rejoin the other class after. The beginners class we learnt simple phrases and vocab so wasn't able to push myself and learn more (I have 5 years experience of Spanish already) asked to change on the Tuesday to a more advanced class but was unable to. Better to start off in a more advanced class and stick at it if you have knowledge ready. Accommodation was safe 24 hour security however I had some problems with some of the facilities (eg no fan/air con, TV didn't work, limited WiFi in rooms) there however language International able to offer a refund

I think I would recommend it but to liase with school in advance to determine class level. To stay in nearby hotel/Airbnb/hostel rather than that accommodation...some places were similar priced and very nearby had good transport links

"Good teachers and fun learning styles"

Great, enjoyed it. Would recommend it. Class rooms walls were paper thin so it made it hard for me to concentrate

"Very good tachers in beginners class"

Mercedes Pierce

Class with Diego was very motiviational and fun, the class is not of the boring type where you stay there and listed but also very dynamic. They encourage student participation and students to cooperate in class. I also took the tour to the markes and the wrestling where I recommend.

"Good teachers but too much students per class"

Amine BACH-CHAOUCH, student from France

Good teachers but too much students per class, we were between 10 and 14 sometimes.
Location: very good
facilities: medium
activities: I did not do any because I was busy doing my pro work
housing: I had my own apt.

I liked the teachers but not the classes with too much students for me.

"I enjoyed the experience very much"

Anthony Simone, student from USA

The teachers--mine and my father's--were great!! My teacher taught practical Spanish, local jargon, and took us on short field trips to a restaurant, etc. so we could practice. I was very nervous the first day but quickly got over it. When I returned and we went to a Mexican restaurant I was able to speak completely in Spanish for the first time. I hope we get to go back next year. The only minor issue was that sometimes the noise from the classroom next to ours was a bit loud but it wasn't a major problem.

"I should have learned more Spanish with 6 hours of classes per day"

Cynthia Sandene, student from USA

I liked Erica a lot as a teacher. She allowed for the perfect mix of free conversation and structure. I had her for two hours every morning..
I thought Hector's classes needed more structure. They lasted 4 hours a day and I learned to listen, but there was too much emphasis on slang and swear words that I will never use. The only verb forms that he went over were past perfect subjunctive and imperative. The diary writing was helpful, but often times there wasn't time to read everyones and there should have been plenty of class time for that.
I don't think that Portuguese speakers should be mixed with intermediate and beginning Spanish speakers. A lot of time was spent on the differences in Portuguese and Spanish during my last week. I also get annoyed when male instructors try to impress the younger women of the class while ignoring the rest of the class and teaching.
There were absolutely no activities other than tacos provided for lunch on Mondays.
The rooms very dark which made it difficult for me to read sometimes.
There was not room for more than 4 people to eat lunch in the common area, so it was difficult to socialize.
I did all my exploring of Mexico City on my own.

"Very good teaching and location"

Arely Romany

Location is key in Mexico City when selecting a school or service. The school is located in Colonia Condesa which is one of the so called trendy areas.

Please note i didnt use the housing provided but i took 4 weeks of the standard course with Nelly and I fully recomend, I think advanced quite well since i started to the end. Nelly was my beginners A teahcer. The class was divided in grammar and conversation.

I also saw activities were offered but i had things to do in the afternoon so could not take them but i did see other classmates taking them.

"Improved since last visit"

Alice Garcia

I had a positive experience at this school being this my second time around. The first time I took a general intermediate course and this time I was able to join the advanced class. I live in the US so I am in contact with Spanish speakers often. The class was small we were 4 students and good as last time but this time there were activities offered. For instance I took the wrestling tour which was exciting and there were others. I recommend.

"I learned Spanish."

Aiesha Dukes, student from USA

My teacher was cool. The setup was very simple and small. Some of my classmates were disappointed but I personally benefited from it. My private teacher made sure to stay on subjects that I was passionate about, which really forced me to want to communicate with him in Spanish. The group classes were largely dictated by the desire of the students to learn. We didn't use books or any required materials. It was mostly just an open discussion where our mistakes were made into teaching moments, which, if you think about it, is the way that children learn. It was very natural and I liked that.

"Fun learning and meeting"

Floor Fiers, student from USA

Classes were really well taught. Teachers were well-educated, interesting and nice. Location and facilities were both good. I didn't do any activities. I didn't take the housing.

Personally, the guy who was in my class was extremely annoying and made it harder for me to learn.

Also, I thought the administration was rude and did not try to help me as I had a hard time conversing with them in Spanish.

"I enjoyed this experience."

Cecilia Mosca, student from Italy

I liked the classes, even if the school didn't organise activities in the afternoon.
The school didn't give students a map of the city. The teachers were good.
Mexico City is a very big city!
The school wasn't near my house (I travelled by underground). My room was a little bit small.

"Good program if you have at least a few weeks."

TIm Hubbard, student from USA

I thought it was a good program, but I was only there for a week so I didn't have a whole lot of time to evaluate it. I signed up for the extensive course which was 6 hours a day and honestly a bit too much. I had thought that there would be a little more structure in an intensive course, but for a lot of the time we just talked which was helpful as well but I guess not what I had expected. I would go back again but only if I had at least a few weeks.

"Everything is good"

Aafan Lin, student from USA

The location, classes, teachers, and housing were really good. I had a wonderful time living and studying at this school. The teacher was really enthusiastic and skilled. I had a really unforgettable experience at Frida Spanish school. I may go back again.
However, this school didn't offer any activities and the few limited activities were usually organized by students themselves. The facilities in the school residence also need to be improved; there was no laundry; there were three showers, but only one shower was working, and the other showers were either broken or leaking.
But just forget about the residence stuff, and I do recommend this school to everyone.

"Almost Good"

Daniel Rodrigues Gazzi, student from Brazil

There were no external activities to know more about Mexico City (the famous cooking based on "pepper", historical places and other important things). Neither was there a trip to the countryside (trip to Teotihuacan pirámides, for example).

I felt that the administration wasn´t aware of the importance of planning the classes and preparing a good reception for the students.

In my opinion, the points noted above are important to the first impression, because people who take a foreign language course need to be confident to ask and try to speak up.

One good point was a teacher named Hector (I´m not sure if it is his name). This guy has skills and a best way to lead the class.

Regards

Daniel

"Is there an extra charge for a private bathroom? If not, will this be in place of meals? Or will the student still get half board? On which days do the trips to Teotihuacan and the anthropology museum happen? Is it for free? Or is there any extra cost?"

Liza Test Lead B, student from
Jesus Davila, Q Language LTD. school representative

Private bath depends. Some families have it at no extra charge. As for the tours, the student can go anyday and they are cheap.

"Can you arrange for a private bathroom with no meals? The student has requested a family that's tolerant of older students. The student plans to go out a lot at night to go dancing and wants a host that will be tolerant of that and not impose any curfews,"

The extra nights have to be paid because the family charges it. I can arrange private bath with no meals. The families here are ok with people going out so no worries just please write this in the special request part of the booking form. We also organize
