EIDE is a language school established in 1976. Since its foundation, EIDE has trained more than 14.000 students. Language teaching was its main activity when it opened its doors and languages are still the pillars around which the other main areas have been developed: Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Catering.
Our more than 30-years experience and professionalism have been recognized by such institutions and the University of Cambridge ESOL examinations and the Instituto Cervantes, as well as different National European Organizations.
We pay personal attention to all foreign students, which allows them to obtain excellent results in the learning of the Spanish language. We also encourage them to mix with other Spanish speaking students who attend our school, thus they are able to practice the Spanish language, as well as to experience the authentic Spanish and Basque culture.
The goal of our courses is to teach people to communicate in Spanish in real-world situations. With this goal in mind, our classes focus on basic linguistic skills: speaking and spoken interaction, listening comprehension, reading, and writing.
All our teachers are native speakers; they have a university degree in languages and are very experienced in teaching languages.
"... highly qualified teachers, who have studied abroad, who speak other languages and who are very open to other cultures. They can understand the point of view of their students; they always find a way to explain the inexplicable". Xana Farpón, a Spanish teacher at EIDE, BA in Languages by the University of Deusto and MA in Linguistics by Ohio State University.

EIDE is located in the center of Santurtzi, a town by the seaside in the metropolitan area of Bilbao. Santurtzi has many shops, bars, and restaurant, everything at walking distance. The town's location is excellent, not only because of its proximity to the city center of Bilbao but also because of its proximity to the beaches and the mountains. It takes only 20 minutes to arrive at Bilbao by train or metro (there is a metro every 10 minutes), to the nearest beach or to the countryside and mountains.
This was an excellent experience for me. As a one to one student I was a little apprehensive but I need not have worried. Both my teachers were helpful and supportive giving me time to think and respond. They were very encouraging and patient. Both gave more than my allocated time - sometimes significantly more. There was plenty of work to follow up and this was checked methodically. I could not have asked for more. Both my teachers are now like longstanding friends and I have received personal invitations to return. Thank you for a great time. The school is ideally placed in the centre of Santurtzi with an abundance of cafes and restaurants. The in-house restaurant is exceptionally good for the very modest price,
In summary I would say that you would have to go a long way to beat it. The price is reasonable and the service provided, outstanding. Thank you EIDE for an unforgettable experience. PS I will be returning!
