St. Peters School of English
School description
The school sits in a four story, attractive Victorian period building. The foundations are medieval and it has an 18th century private walled garden for student use exclusively. There are 7 classrooms in winter and sometimes 9 in Summer. We have a games room, a Tudor-style recreational area, a small cafe, a free internet room and general student resources. We are also only 2 minutes walk from the town centre with all its cafes, shops and ancient tourist sites. We are family owned and run and provide an incredibly friendly and supportive atmosphere. Many of our teachers have been with us a while and are highly trusted.
As mentioned we have a beautiful and private 18th century walled garden, full of flowers and climbing plants in Summer. There are garden tables and chairs and a marquee tent all of this for the students exclusively to relax and talk. It is always used when the sun is out and there are no excursions.
We have a games room for students only. It has ping pong, table football and when requested billiards. This is always busy (when there are no excursions).
Location: I don't know about other schools but almost all our host families are within walking distance of the school which itself is in the cente of the historic part of Canterbury, just 2 minutes walk from the cafes and shops.
