The teachers are native speakers and all are qualified teachers of English. The classes are fun and cover all aspects of english language learning ensuring participation of all the students in the class. We offer General English and Examination Courses. We offer English courses for all levels - elementary, intermediate and advanced. We provide preparation classes for such language exams as the Cambridge ESOL examinations, IELTS and TIE exams. When a student arrives in the school they are given a welcome pack consisting of useful information for your stay here; maps, contact numbers, addresses, places of interest, transporatation systems, school rules etc . We start with an induction meeting covering such items as; Our classes, timetable, what will be covered etc General advice; Academic, Accommodation, Getting around Dublin, places to see & visit Counselling & Personal support, Social Programme & Activities Prior to starting in a class, all students are tested in relation to their level of English. Based on this test, they are then allocated to a class to suit their ability. After the first class, we check to ensure that they are comfortable at that level and obtain their first impressions. Social Programme Students are welcome to enjoy Kavanagh College’s social activities. The school organises weekly cultural, social and sporting outings where students can actively practice their English with native speakers and other students. Students are welcome to enjoy our social acitivities. From time to time the school organises additional acitivities and visits .. some visits have included Irish pub music nights, Guinness Hopstore, Shelbourne Park Dogtrack, Leopardstown Racecourse, Glendalough Tours, Newgrange tours, National Museum, Irish Dancing, National Gallery and Chester Beatty library visits.
