International House: Nice Teenager Summer Programme (Age 12-16) (Jul 1 - Aug 11) + Homestay, Twin Room, Half Board

This programme is aimed at students who have studied the language for at least a year. It must be noted that complete beginners are not accepted and that students should be aged between 12 and 16. The classes will make small groups of 15 students maximum at an equal level of French and are based on active practical work and role-play ensuring that the student gets plenty of practice in real French life as well as having fun! The International House teachers specialise in teaching French to young foreigners and every student is encouraged to participate in class as much as possible. Lessons begin at 9 am and end at 12.15, Monday to Friday, except on bank holidays. Students will study in small groups of no more than 15 students. Emphasis will be on spoken French. Teaching will be dynamic and entertaining, and will include games, songs and role-playing. All members of staff are fully experienced in teaching French to teenagers. At the end of their stay, each participant will receive a certificate indicating their oral and written level in French, according to the standards set by the European Council. Accommodation The programme includes family accommodation. Each selected family will accommodate a minimum of two students, in double rooms. Our families are used to having teenagers and remain in close contact with the school, which allows us to supervise the students with great care. Most families live within walking distance from the school or are in easy access by bus or tramway. Breakfast and dinner will be provided by the family. The school will provide a packed lunch. Activities A variety of activities are arranged for the students by our tour leaders. These activities take place after classes, between 13.30 and 18.00 on school days and from 11.00 to 18.00 at weekends, in the form of full day excursions or outdoor activities. During the week, the participants will be accompanied to the beach, in Nice, by our supervisors, where they will practice different sports and swim under supervision. On Saturdays and Sundays, they will explore the region accompanied by a tour leader and an official guide or practice an outdoor activity. Other activities not included in the package are also available at extra cost, including tennis, sailing, kayaking, and underwater diving.
