Take English lessons in a top college and explore English culture. Cambridge is a small city and accommodation is close to school. EC’s homestay providers can be found in the Cherry Hinton, Arbury, Chesterton & New Chesterton areas of Cambridge.<br><br> What's Included:<br> • English course: 20 morning / afternoon lessons (45 mins each) per week for a total of 15 hours. The course will help improve English language skills by focusing on the key areas: reading, writing, speaking and listening. A strong focus is placed on speech and using the language confidently and fluently.<br> • Accommodation on full board<br> • Supervised activity programme:<br> > 5 half day activities and 4 evening activities per week<br> > 1 full day activity for students staying minimum 2 weeks<br><br> Room Type:<br> • Twin room - students are placed in a twin room with other students of the same gender but different nationality<br><br> Rooms include: <br> • Desk/table where students can do their homework (if not in the room, a place for studying will be provided in a common area)<br> • Storage space<br> • Students will be provided with access to living areas during acceptable hours<br><br> What to Expect from the Residence:<br> • All students will have access to a phone and will be allowed to accept incoming calls. If students want to make phone calls they must use a calling card.<br> • The host family will provide access to laundry facilities or coin operated machines. Students will be in charge of taking care of their own laundry<br> • Bed linen is provided; students should bring their own towels- linen and towels will be cleaned once a week.<br> • Laundry facilities will be provided by the family once a week.<br><br> Meals:<br> • Breakfast - Tea/coffee, toast, jam and cereal<br> • Lunches - Lunch is provided in various outlets in Cambridge city centre, these may include restaurants such as British, Italian, Chinese and American, offering a variety of cuisines. Social Leaders will accompany students to pre-arranged restaurants each day. EC English Language Schools: Cambridge (Junior) Junior Summer Course (Jul 8 - Aug 18, no arrivals Jul 15) (Ages 13-17) + Jesus College Accommodation Twin Room, Full Board The prestigious Jesus Residence is situated in the centre of the beautiful city of Cambridge, a 20 - 25 minutes’ walk from Chesterton Community College, EC’s Junior Centre. Shops, cafés, sports facilities, a multiplex cinema and the historical sites of Cambridge are all within walking distance of Jesus residence.<br><br> Rooms Include:<br> • Beds and chest of drawers<br> • Storage space<br> • Writing desk and chair<br> • Reading lamp<br> • Mirror<br> • Notice board<br> • Rooms may contain a hand wash basin.<br><br> What to Expect from the Residence:<br> • Students stay in comfortable single or twin rooms in individual houses.<br> • Between 9 and 12 students normally stay in each house and are fully supervised by a live-in EC Social Leader.<br> • There are between 2 bathrooms per house.<br> • Communal area including a kitchen where the live-in social leader and students will prepare and have breakfast.<br> • Bed linen is provided and changed weekly; students should bring their own towels.<br> • Bedrooms are cleaned and tidied weekly, communal areas are cleaned and tidied daily. However, all students should assist in keeping both their own rooms and communal areas tidy.<br> • Students can use the washing machines in each house. They will be responsible for their own laundry. If they would like to use the washing machines more than once a week students must provide their own laundry washing powder.<br><br> Meals<br> • Breakfast - Students will receive a breakfast including tea/coffee, toast, jam and cereal at each boarding house in Jesus College residence.<br> • Lunches - Lunch is provided in various outlets in Cambridge city centre. These may include restaurants such as British, Italian, Chinese and American, offering a variety of cuisines. Social Leaders will accompany students to pre-arranged restaurants each day. Packed lunches will be provided on full day excursions.<br> • Dinner - Dinner is served every evening at our Junior centre. A hot meal will be provided to students and will include a vegetarian option.
