Tokyo is the capital of Japan and is the center of the most populated urban area in the entire world. Since Tokyo is such a huge city, its different districts vary greatly: from the ancient Imperial gardens and shrines of Chiyoda and the pottery shops and temple markets of Asakusa, to the more modern areas of the city such as the Shinjuki area, which is known as Tokyo's "second center" and is popular for business and commercial endeavors as well as nighttime entertainment.
