Milan is located in Northern Italy and is an important player in Italy’s economy as well as its culture. It is world renowned for being at the height of fashion, yet is also home to the country’s stock market and many cultural wonders as well. In its early years, Milan was first inhabited by the Celtics and then later the Romans. There are still a few remains of the ancient Roman colony to this day. During the Middle Ages, the area prospered due to its location as a passage point between the Alps and the rest of Italy, and it has been a thriving hub city ever since. Nowadays it is one of Europe’s largest industrial and transportation hubs, and is also regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world.
