Our German school in Würzburg puts you at the center of a beautiful, historic city loaded with culture and wonderful sights. Taking German courses in Würzburg will help you get right into fluency as you describe the gorgeous attractions, like the Würzburg Residenz, a UNESCO World Heritage Site complex on par with Versaille with its magnificent church, chamber, and the largest fresco in the world. Walk across the Old Bridge to visit the Fortress Marienberg, an ancient castle. The castle’s fortresses and moats date to the 13th century, and the castle has a special Mainfränkisches Museum where you can see extraordinary Franconian art and sculptures by Tilman Riemenschneider. The Dom St. Kilian is the fourth largest Romanesque cathedral in Germany. From its construction in the 12th century to the Baroque stucco from the early 18th century, this cathedral boasts unbelievable art and interior views. Make sure you stop by the Mainfranken Museum and enjoy the annual Afrika Festival in May and the Mozartfest in June and July. The wine enthusiast will be in heaven here. Not only does Würzburg have several wine festivals a year, it also has the Stein Wine Trail, a trip throughout the area’s many wine cellars. There is a yearly international film festival, a children’s festival, and a jazz festival. Each year the town goes all out for Christmas, or Weihnachten as they call it, and put on a special Advent marketplace, an artists’ showcase, and a train trip touring the city in its quaint splendor.
