Whistler is a tremendous resort town located in British Columbia. It is home to some of the best ski slopes in British Columbia and it is a unique place full of five star hotels, exquisite restaurants, lively night spots and elegant shops. Whistler was actually built to be a resort town; prior to the creation of the Creekside ski area in 1967, it was a small logging town known as Alta Lake. Then, a second resort area opened on Blackcomb Mountain in 1980 and Whistler's popularity kept growing. Although there is plenty to do in these tiny ski villages, English courses in Whistler would be best suited for the outdoor enthusiast who wants to sharpen their skis as much as they want to sharpen their language skills. In the summer, students at an English school in Whistler can also enjoy excellent hiking in the area, great biking riding trails, or a visit to Lost Lake Park to swim and sunbathe for a bit.
