The town of Sliema is located on the northeast coast of Malta, near the town of San Giljan and is a short drive away from the capital city of Valletta. Sliema and San Giljan are the two most tourist focused towns in the area; Sliema is home to an extensive modern shopping district with popular shops and cafés. There are also several schools in the city, and English courses in Sliema are popular around the world. While you study your courses in at an English school in Sliema, you can spend the afternoons sitting along the coast at the local cafés, many of which provide wireless internet for their patrons. During your free time, you may want to take a swim at one of the stone beaches along the seafront. Although there are great restaurants in Sliema, especially on Howard Street, many visitors like to head to San Giljan (also known as Saint Julian's) for its famous nightlife and pubs.
