From the gorgeous stone North Congregational Church to the Saint Johnsbury Athenaeum, classic New England architecture can be found all over town. In fact, the Athenaeum is a great place for students at an English school in Saint Johnsbury to study their English while soaking up the town's historic atmosphere – this beautifully designed public library, built in 1871, features a number of classic Hudson River School paintings. Saint Johnsbury is an ideal place for animal lovers. Dog Mountain, a 150-acre dog park featuring scenic hiking trails and regal dog sculptures, is a little slice of heaven for pet owners.
