The town of Lynnwood is located in Snohomish County in the state of Washington. The city originally named Alderwood Manor, but was officially incorporated as Lynnwood in April of 1959. Students enrolled in English school in Lynnwood should be sure to visit Heritage Park to learn more about the history of this city. At Heritage Park, visitors can view some of the city’s earliest buildings in a working village type of setting. Because of Lynnwood’s location, visitors can enjoy a wealth of outdoor activities. In less than 30 minutes it is possible to be in the nearby mountains or at a Puget Sound beach. Try white water rafting, or kayaking in warmer months. Snowboarding and skiing are popular in the winter. Students taking English courses in Lynnwood might like to explore Alderwood, the combined indoor mall and outdoor village for a great shopping experience. With signature department stores, a 16 screen movie theater, and a bevy of upscale retailers, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon. Be sure to check out some of the local festivals while in town. Shakespeare in the Park is held in the months of July and August at Lynnwood Park’s outdoor wooded amphitheater. Throughout the year you’ll find craft fairs, ethnic fairs, farmer’s markets and a number of other ways to experience and enjoy Lynnwood and its neighboring communities.
