The town of Luton is the unitary authority of Bedfordshire, England. It is 30 miles north of London. The earliest known settlements in the Luton area were at Round Green and Mixes Hill. The foundation of the Luton town dates back to the 6th century to a Saxon outpost formed on the River Lea. Students enrolled in English school in Luton should be sure to visit the Wardown Park Museum. This museum was formerly known as the Luton Museum and Art Gallery. It is housed in a beautiful Victorian mansion in Wardown Park which is on the outskirts of the town center. Guests can explore the wonderful exhibits including the Women’s Hat Industry collection, which features over 600 hats. Visitors will also find costumes, books, Saxon Jewelry and more. Sports fans might be interested in watching a Luton Town Football Club match at the Kenilworth Stadium. Students taking English courses in Luton should be sure to visit the Stockwood Discovery Center. Formerly known as the Stockwood Park Museum, the exhibits and displays cover topics like geography, social history and rural crafts. The associated garden displays are also magnificent for visitors to explore.
