The town of Harrogate is a spa town located in North Yorkshire, England. It has long been a tourist destinations due to its spa waters. In addition to the spa attractions within the town, Harrogate is quite famous for its tearooms and cafes. Betty’s Tearoom is one of the more well known. It was established in 1919 and it still has people lining up for afternoon tea. Students taking English courses in Harrogate might also enjoy exploring any of the beautiful gardens in the area. Spring and autumn are the seasons when the colors are the most breathtaking. Take time to visit Valley Gardens, which contains more mineral springs than any other place in the world. These gardens cover over 17 acres, and are beautifully manicured. During the summer, catch a band concert here on Sunday afternoons. Students should be sure to visit the Harrogate Flower Show if they are in town while it occurs. It takes place at the Great Yorkshire Showground twice a year, once in spring and once in autumn.
