The city of Findlay is located in the northwestern portion of the state of Ohio. Its official nickname is “Flag city USA’, because of its efforts to insure that every resident fly the American flag on Flag Day starting back in the 1960s. Today Findlay is home to the University of Findlay which is a liberal arts college known for its equestrian programs. Students enrolled in English school in Findlay should be sure to visit the Hancock Historical Museum to learn more about the Findlay area and the history of Hancock County. The Mazza Museum is another interesting stop. It is devoted to literacy and the art of children’s picture books and contains nearly 5000 original works for art. Visitors to Findlay will enjoy its small town feel. Take time to explore the downtown shops or other venues through the town. The city has a great variety including unique boutiques as well as many favorite chain stores. The area is also known for having several first class golf courses for visitors to enjoy. For some other outdoor options, visit the Riverbend Recreation Area which features 129 acres of forest, fishing, volleyball courts, a disc golf course and more. Visit in the fall to participate in a Fall Color Hayride. Students taking English courses in Findlay can expect to experience a humid continental climate.
