The city of Bloomington is located in the state of Minnesota, just 10 miles south of downtown Minneapolis. It is located on the north bank of the Minnesota River. Sometime after 1851, a group of settlers moved to the area. They named the town after their previous home, Bloomington, Illinois. Students enrolled in English school in Bloomington will find that many activities and excursions within Bloomington are found at the Mall of America, the largest enclosed shopping center in the United States. The Mall is home to the Sea Life Aquarium, which has more than 10,000 sea creatures including sharks, seahorses, jellyfish and more.
