IELTS Preparation
INTRODUCTION<br>
IELTS Exam Preparation Course is offered at the South Australian College of English (SACE Adelaide), Tasmanian College of English (SACE Hobart) and the Whitsundays College of English (SACE Airlie Beach).<br><br>
SACE IELTS Preparation Course is a full-time course to prepare students for the IELTS Examination or for Direct Entry to TAFE or SACE English for Tertiary Studies II.<br><br>
THE IELTS EXAMINATION<br>
The International Language Testings System (IELTS) assesses the level of English of non-native speakers who need English for academic, professional purposes or for visa application for Australian Immigration.<br><br>
ENTRY REQUIREMENT<br>
• IELTS Foundation (IELTS 4.5 or equivalent – Adelaide only)<br>
• IELTS Preparation (IELTS 5.0 or equivalent – All campuses)<br><br>
COURSE ORGANISATION<br>
The IELTS Exam Preparation Course provides preparation for the IELTS Speaking and Listening module and IELTS Academic and General Reading and Writing Modules. Vocabulary and use of grammar are important aspects of each weeks programme.<br><br>
The course also includes a study skills and examination practice component to assist students to practice and prepare for the IELTS examination.<br><br>
A course textbook is issued to students on the first day of their course. Relevant authentic teaching resources and additional examination practice are used to supplement the course text.<br><br>
EXIT ENGLISH PROFICIENCY LEVEL ON COURSE COMPLETION<br>
On successful completion students should achieve:<br>
o IELTS Foundation: a level equivalent to IELTS 5.0<br>
o IELTS Preparation: a level equivalent to IELTS 5.5<br>

English for Tertiary Studies
The English for Tertiary Studies Programme (ETS) is for students planning to study a University / VET / Hospitality Programme at an Australian Tertiary Institution or for students interested in an academic focussed course.<br><br>
SACE works closely with our DIRECT ENTRY Partner Institutions below.<br><br>
Students enrolled in ETS Courses become familiar with the academic English required for Tertiary Study and have practiced their English skills in their course.<br><br>
COURSE AIMS<br>
The course aims to expand and develop students existing English skills to enable them to achieve success in academic study.<br>
The course also develops and expands students study skills and assists students to develop and practice independent learning strategies important for tertiary study.<br>
Students who successfully complete the SACE Direct Entry Programme (English for Tertiary Studies I / II / III) at the appropriate level and meet the academic entry requirements for University / TAFE are able to gain direct entry to courses offered by the educational institute listed below. <br><br>
Students do not need to sit an additional IELTS test.<br><br>
