English Language Center: Los Angeles Intensive English The Intensive English Program is a 30-lesson-per-week course which covers the full range of language skills— grammar, vocabulary, conversation, communication, listening comprehension, reading, pronunciation, and writing. All students follow the same schedule in the morning. In the afternoon, students at the beginning levels concentrate on reading and writing. English Language Center: Los Angeles Semi-Intensive Plus English The Semi-Intensive Plus Program at ELC is designed to promote communicative competence in English and consists of Sections A and B Monday through Friday, and Section C on Tuesday and Thursday. Section A is titled Grammar Structure & Usage and focuses not only on teaching students the rules for grammar usage, but also on giving students the opportunity to practice using grammar in both speaking and writing. Section B is Conversation & Listening on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and Vocabulary & Pronunciation on Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesdays and Thursday, classes run until 3.30pm while on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays classes run until 12:45pm. Students practice speaking in English and listening to and understanding English spoken by native speakers. Teachers also give feedback and special exercises to help students improve pronunciation.
