Semi-Intensive General English

Course description

On this course, you study every morning from 9.15 until 1pm, so you are free to take a part-time job* or follow your own personal interests in the afternoon. Some weekly cultural, social and sporting activities are also included in your course. Interactive and focused classroom activities will give you the opportunity to practice grammatical structures and new vocabulary in a relaxed, supportive environment. You will receive personal attention and your teachers adapt the content of the course to suit the particular needs and interests of your group. Different teachers have different styles of teaching, but the Lake School 'style of teaching' is dynamic and communicative. In class you will often work in pairs or small groups so you have the chance to speak as much English as possible. Teachers and students take their studies seriously and work very hard, but you will also have a lot of fun in class. You will receive all the materials you need to use in class; but please bring a notebook with you. You will have homework every night and a revision test at the end of each week, which will help you monitor your own progress. Please note that this course can start any Monday from January 4 to June 21, 2010, and from August 31 to November 29, 2010, except April 5, May 3 and May 31. You can't take a Semi-Intensive course in July or August. Beginners must start on January 4, April 6 or September 27, 2010.
