Course description

Since 1970, the International Language Institute has provided English instruction to thousands of students from all parts of the world. ILI has become known for its excellent teachers and friendly atmosphere and is committed to providing quality language instruction as well as the help, services, and support our students need to study effectively in the United States.

For our enrollment in the Saturday, semi-intensive English class, students can take a placement test and have a start date issued accordingly,

ILI offers a semi-intensive program in English (ESL) in the evenings and on Saturdays for international visitors, professional and career development students, continuing education students, au pairs, and child care providers. There are six class levels, plus a TOEFL preparation class. Each English level in the evening is 12 weeks (24 weeks for TOEFL) and 20 weeks in the Saturday program (40 weeks for TOEFL). The complete TOEFL preparation course is two sessions, but students may not need all 24 (evening) or 40 (Saturday) weeks. Students work at gaining English proficiency so they can reach their own academic, professional, or personal goals. All levels include:

"It was disorganized but still good"

Laura Schmidt, student from Germany

In the four weeks the teachers changed 3 times, I was not informed that the course started later.
The technology often did not work.
Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun and everyone tried to make the best of the situation.

visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $100 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
