Course description
The main aims of our 'General English' courses are to teach students to speak English fluently and with confidence
We use a creative and varied teaching approach that is tailored to the individual needs and requirements of our students. To ensure students receive stimulating and enjoyable as well as effective lessons, we use a wide range of supplementary materials in addition to the appropriate course book as determined by the School Placement Test. Through the additional use of DVD and audio materials, the Internet and texts we aim to maximise the aquisition of language skills and the student's ability to communicate orally.
The General English course is designed to equip students working at whatever Level to cope with the many scenarios modern life will put in their path.
Grammar, of course is the foundation block of all languages and we recognise that the appropriate teaching of Grammar will improve an individual student's knowledge and confidence when using English in their daily lives. We endeavour to ensure that students have learned as effectively as possible for the duration of their courses according to their ability.
Conversational English is taught in an informal environment that makes the student feel relaxed, enhancing the potential for learning. Feeling able to take a full part in the social life of the city is vital in order to obtain a real understanding of the language. Our conscientious, dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable team of teachers, many of whom live close to the city and the varied social activities organised, we feel will benefit students' confidence considerably.
