General English (GE20)

Course description

General English courses include grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students are classed according to the level achieved in the placement test on the first day ranging from complete beginner to higher advanced. Students will have 20 hours of General English (GE) per week. International House Newcastle teaches using the communicative method and particular emphasis is placed on enabling the student to communicate effectively in English. All International House Newcastle teachers are fully qualified teachers of the English language and most have many years of experience teaching in different parts of the world. Progress in learning English is monitored by continuous assessment from the English language teacher, tutorials and internal tests. All English language students will receive a weekly work plan from their teachers and personal tutorials will take place on a regular basis. Course materials will be provided for all students, including a study pack and vocabulary book

International House: Newcastle does not hold classes on the holiday dates above. The school does not compensate for these holidays, so make sure to choose your start date accordingly.
