"Everyone was very friendly and accommodating!"

Janna Khoroujik, student from Russia

I really liked the teachers, they are all great and helpful. However, classes were not filled with students of the same level from time to time, so I felt at times that classes were too easy even though I was in the most advanced one. This is to say that school is great for beginners and mid-intermediates. The course in the afternoon was a lot better as I was mostly the only student that was preparing for DELF.

"it was very goodAll good! I liked the last few weeks when there were fewer students and students who were SERIOUS, not goofing around; classroom discipline sometimes was lax."

philip j wagner, student from USA

Overall, very good! I learned a lot. I liked the fact that the teachers would review and grade my homework if I brought in extra work, exercises, essays. I enjoyed the work, but my partner Robin isn't that much of a language lover, so she thought 2 months of classes was a bit too long. She did it anyway, taking a day off from time to time. For people like Robin it might be nice if there was an arrangement wherein a student might attend classes only 4 days/week rather than 5! Maybe you have that arrangement already, I don't know. I liked our home host in that she would work with us on our french; it was as if we had a private tutor in the evenings. She was quiet interested in our progress. I would encourage the school to more or less train the home-hosts in how to help students with their language difficulties. Again, my experience was fruitful. I enjoyed the work! Sincerely, Philp Wagner

"It was a waste of money."

Laura McDonough, student from USA

I was put in a class the first day that was too difficult. This situation was rectified immediately on my arrival the second day. I was put in a class that was quite appropriate for my needs. Unfortunately, it was mostly comprised of teenagers who obviously did not want to be there. It hurt the class having them there. At least I was in the correct class, though, so I was optimistic at this point. Then, we were squeezed into a room that was much to small for the amount of people (and the size of the table); if one person in the back of the room needed to get up and leave the room, we all had to get up to let this person out. The chairs were uncomfortable as well; much too uncomfortable if you are in a tight place for over 3 hours. I felt bad for the teacher. She was very compitent and patient even though the room was obviously sub-standard. I think the more advanced classes were in the other rooms. This was just silly. At the end of the second day of classes, we were all told that we had no school the next day (Bastille Day). I paid for 5 classes. I wanted to be compensated. I was told ""no"" by the people in Paris and by the person in the US (you guys!) as well. Apparently, there is a ""no refund"" policy. Well, I have a policy of not paying for things I DON""T GET. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding this. After all, I do have a written contract from you stating that I am to received 5 days of classes from July 10 through July 14. The person in charge in Paris said that the people in the US were supposed to tell me I was only getting 4 days of classes. I guess the lawyers can figure out who is responsible for my reimbursement. The next 2 classes were adequate enough. It just was a shame that I really only got 3 classes (due to the holiday and the wasted first day) and they were ruined due to the other students. The teacher was very good. I think that the facility itself was also quite good for the other students who were in normal rooms. I just wish I had never signed up for this class. What a waste of time and money. I could never recommend it. Perhaps if I received 5 full days of classes in a regular room with students like me, who wanted to learn, I might feel differently - but we will never know, will we?
