"So far I can say that I´ve done a right choice"

Pedro Antonio Caetano, student from Angola

Dear all,

I would like to thank everyone I met so far, teachers, classmates, guide of extra activities, staff of school and so on. This course has been a good experience for me and I expect when its ends up I can feel more confident to put in practice everything I am learning.

Once I have just done two weeks of course I think I need more time for may improvement and I expect in this three weeks left I can learn more.

The school has experienced teachers and the facility also are very comfortable.
For while I have no complaint.

Best regards

"An amazing useful experience"

Reema Bawazeer, student from Saudi Arabia

It was a great experience. The teachers were perfect and they explained very well and also the classes were good.
However, the level of each student was not that perfect because I think the online test is not accurate. This is the only issue I found. The atmosphere is good. Everything was amazing.
I would like to register again next year.

"Not so useful"

Giovanna Lombardi, student from Italy

The location was good for the position. The school for adult courses lacked everything (laboratory, information, materials). I hadn't had a proper test at my arrival, so I attended the first week course in the wrong level. The teachers didn't use the same methods. Actually, it seemed they didn't even have a method.

The children's courses were better. My daughter enjoyed the class and loved the teacher.

"3 months + 8 weeks IELTS course"

Matteo Breviglieri

I was in London last summer with Frances King and attended a course of General English and exam preparation (IELTS). I went alone without friend but it wasn’t a problem at all.

The thing I liked the most was my class! We were 12 students from 10 different countries!
The teachers were very good at teaching, and they were kind and nice. They also were very important for my IELTS, because without all their tips and advice I might have failed the exam.

I was in a student residence (half board). The room was fine but the food most of the time wasn't good.
Anyway I really enjoyed spending time there and I met a lot of new friends.

I wish to come back next summer :)

Moreover, my host family was kind to me and i felt comfortable all the time.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 45 when you register.

Ask a question

"I have a prospective student from Poland who would like to study at Frances King School of English. The student is 12 years old and would like to stay in a home stay. I see on your website that home stays are only available for students over the age of 16. Can you make an exception for this student? If not, which accommodations would you recommend for the student?"

FK - Marketing Office, Frances King School of English school representative

The Junior course is not suitable for children travelling to London alone. We can only confirm his Junior course booking if his parent or other guardian aged 21+ is coming with him and will stay in the twin room. Our hosts do not offer any childcare service. The adult doesn't have to book any course, but must accompany the child to and from school every day.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The student has a General Visitor Visa, and NOT the Tier 4 General Student Visa. Will you be able to take the student?"

Okay, but is it a Child study visitor visa? Because even if the student has a visa, it'll have to be a study type visa in order to study as you are also aware of.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student from Russia who would like to study at Frances King School of English. This student would only like to take lessons 4-5 times a week."

Dyan Test, student from USA

We do have One-to-One lessons .

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective mother (advanced level) and her 13 year old daughter (pre-intermediate) who would like to study at Frances King School of English. They would like to do a home stay together. Is this at all possible? I know in our system all of your home stays are single home stays, is there any way we can make an exception?"

Елена Борисова, student from Russia
FK - Marketing Office, Frances King School of English school representative

We do offer twin home stays.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The student is traveling with her mother and her older sister who would be taking a General English course in your school as well. That is why this student doesn't need the accommodation that you offer included in the course. Do you have accommodation for families?"

Nico Dowling, Atlas Language School school representative

The Junior Program 15 hours per week course + 15 hours per week activities plus full day excursion on Saturday. If they wish we can find a family who would be able to accommodate the mother and the 2 daughters no problem.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student from Turkey who would like to study at Frances King School of English. The student is only 15 years old and is below the minimum age of 16 required to join the course below. Can you make an exception and accept our student into the program?"

FK - Marketing Office, Frances King School of English school representative

Unfortunately we cannot book any Adult course for a 15 year old, and most student residences have a minimum age policy of 18 years. We run a special Family program for this age group at our school near Victoria station, and the Junior course is available for 2 weeks. He must have a valid Child Visitor visa to come to the UK and he must be travelling with his parents or an adult guardian aged over 21 who will be responsible for him during his stay. If he is travelling to London with an adult, let us know and we can check availability of twin rooms to share.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student from Belgium who would like to study at A2Z School of English. Can you accept a student born in December 9 (she won't be 16 at the moment of the course, but will be at the end of the year)."

I am really sorry but we are unable to accept any students under 16 at the time of the course, unless they are part of a closed group with a group leader.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have 2 prospective students from Italy who would like to study at Frances King School of English. They are 2 children, one 11 and one 7 years old. Can you accept this last one?"

We accept students aged 7 in our Junior Family Program, as long as booking with an older sibling.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student who would like to study at EC English Language Schools: South London (Junior). Is there a registration fee needed for this program?"

There is no registration fee needed as it’s part of the package.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have 2 prospective students from Italy who would like to study at SKOLA Gloucester Gate. The son is born on 30 April 2007, would it be possible for the school to make an exception for his age to attend the school with his sister?"

Dyan Test, student from USA

Unfortunately we cannot accept children that age, students must be at least 8 years old, but SKOLA Regent's Park runs summer courses for children aged 3-9, and you can apply there. There is no problem if the sister wants to apply for a course with us, for the moment we still have availability for the 3 weeks requested.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The mother of my students had a question: since they can't be in the same school, how far is the Gloucester Gate school from the Regent's Park school?"

Dyan Test, student from USA

The two schools are not far, 15-20 minutes walk.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student from Italy who would like to study at Frances King School of English. The student is only 7 years old and is below the minimum age of 8 required to join the course below. Can you make an exception and accept our student into the program? He will also be coming with his older sister of 11 years of age. They would both like to take the course."

Dyan Test, student from USA

I am afraid that we cannot make exceptions under any circumstances as we advertise the minimum age as 8.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student who would like to study at Babil Language School. Is housing offered with this course?"

Akif Kaya, Babil International Language School school representative

Yes, the student can book host family with this booking.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The student only has a Child Visitor Visa and NOT a Child STUDENT Visitor Visa. So that means that he has to go and apply for a Child SVV?"

Good news is we can take this student. Under 18s are allowed to study on a child visitor visa as long as it is with an accredited school, which EC London is. It is only adults that require a special student visitor visa.
