Edinburgh is a compact city which makes it easy to move around. Most of Edinburgh's top attractions are within 15 minutes walk of EAC Edinburgh. There's also an excellent public bus network including night service. If you buy a bus pass, you can travel around easily and cheaply.

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and is located in the Central Belt area of the country situated on the southern shore of the Firsth of Forth. Edinburgh is a modern city set on a medieval backdrop -- from the Edinburgh Castle, the symbol of the city, to the Holyrood Palace, there are many pieces of ancient history in this lively and intellectual modern city. Edinburgh has long been considered the literary capital of the English speaking world, so students studying English courses in Edinburgh will have a rich literary history to read and learn from. Visitors interested in the history and architecture should make their first stop in Old Town where they can explore the Royal Mile, while those who want to shop, eat, and enjoy the culture should head to nearby New Town, which is the commercial capital of the city and features some great late eighteenth century Georgian architecture. Students at an English school in Edinburgh can walk along the Water of Leith just north of the main city with pubs and shopping and an independent feel.
