International House: NewcastleAcademic English (with IELTS preparation)EAP/IELTS courses are suitable for students who either intend to take IELTS or continue on to further or higher education in the UK.
The reading, writing, listening and speaking components of IELTS are studied and practised. The development of study skills and
learner autonomy are also essential to these courses. The teachers on these courses are specifically trained to prepare students
for IELTS. Advice on taking IELTS and assistance with applications is provided. These courses are 10 hours per week of classroom
teaching and 5 hours of Individual Academic Programme (AE15). This course is also suitable for students
wishing to take the TOEFL examination.
